Set up MDM authority to Intune

Hello,
im setting up Device enrollment.
My tenant MDM authority was: Unknown

I tried to follow link set-mdm-authority .. but there was no "Orange label" banner at all.
I was messing around, tried to find a solution. Accidently i activated "Basic security and mobility" and now my Tenant MDM authority is set to "Microsoft Office 365".

How to revert this back? Or better, how to change it to Intune? Documentation is obsolete (its pointing to azure portal, when Intune settings was moved to endpoint.microsoft.com ...).

I have no enrolled device yet.

Ive E3 license.
I didnt found a way how to revert back the Office 365 MDM, but ive found how to activate Intune at least.

I tried to enroll my android device which failed, in the error message was a link: "You are using Office 365 for mobile management.. you can add Intune.,," And there was a clickable link, which activated Intune.

Basically, the MDM authority is automatically set to Intune for the newest tenant service release. Please click this link for more details. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/fundamentals/mdm-authority-set

If the MDM authority is unknow, please make sure you have purchased the Intune license.

Besides, even you have activated Basic Mobility and Security for Office 365, you still can use Intune, which can coexist with Basic Mobility and Security.

Go to Endpoint Manager > Troubleshooting + Support > Guided Scenarios (preview) > "Set up a test device to try out cloud management" > start. This will force the MDM Authority prompt to come up.

Been struggling to find the same and managed to get switched to Intune using this workaround:

Can you explain this workaround? I can't really see how to set MDM Authority, only organizational/IT details.

Thank you. This worked. For the record, to make it clear for anyone else considering this approach, we have a corporate MS365/Azure subscription (not Education), where at some point the MDM Authority was set to "Office 365". This shortcut above uses the portal for Intune for Education to get to the setting to switch the MDM authority to Intune. When you then refresh Intune "Corporate" Admin portal (as opposed to Intune "Education" Admin portal), the correct MDM Authority setting shows.

Works here too. How is this still a thing in 2024???? It's insane Microsoft don't have a better way for corporates to change their MDM Authority, and better documentation about it.
