Why am I being asked to give my password for outlook and it is always wrong? I know it is right?

I will be shopping in either Edge or Google and when I go to sign into Bed Bath and Beyond the browser will ask me for my password to enter in the saved password for Bed Bath and Beyond. It asks me for my Microsoft password which I am assuming is my password for my email account as it matches my outlook account. I recently changed it because I had this issue just yesterday. I had to go through this entire craziness prompting me to reset me password again for the 100th time in my outlook.

My question is why my password not working? How is it changing when it does not show any sign ins but me on my home computer? I am not changing it and how is it changing by itself? It is so annoying I do not understand, and I know it has to be me doing something ridiculously stupid. I am sick to death of sign in issues. I turned off the need to sign in for passwords, and I have tried to resolve this myself. I am not advanced enough to understand why this is happening. I want to turn off any extra requirements for sign in, and I started writing all my passwords in a book instead of saving them on my computer. I am still constantly having issues with being interrupting while I'm just trying to enjoy my day.

I try to bypass the need for the password and enter in the password myself and it keeps asking me for my Microsoft password anyway? Help! Please, with minimal condescending remarks even if I deserve them.

It sounds like you're experiencing persistent issues with password prompts in Outlook and related applications. Here are some potential reasons and solutions for why you might be facing these problems:

    1. Cached Credentials: Sometimes, outdated or incorrect credentials stored in the Windows Credential Manager can cause repeated password prompts. You can try clearing these cached credentials:
      • Go to Control Panel > Credential Manager > Windows Credentials.
      • Look for any entries related to Outlook or Microsoft Office and remove them.
      • Restart Outlook and re-enter your credentials.
    2. Modern Authentication: If your organization or account is set up to use Modern Authentication, ensure that it is enabled. This can help resolve persistent credential prompts.
    3. Account Lockout: If you are changing your password frequently, ensure that your account is not getting locked out due to multiple failed login attempts. This can happen if you have other devices or applications trying to use an old password.
    4. Browser Password Management: When using browsers like Edge or Google Chrome, ensure that the password manager is not trying to autofill an outdated password. You may need to update or remove the saved password for Bed Bath and Beyond in your browser settings.
    5. Outlook Profile Issues: Sometimes, issues with your Outlook profile can lead to repeated password prompts. You might consider creating a new Outlook profile to see if that resolves the issue.
      • Go to Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles and create a new profile.
    6. Updates and Compatibility: Ensure that your Outlook application is up-to-date. Sometimes, issues can arise from using outdated versions of the software.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be beneficial to consult with your IT department or Microsoft support for further assistance.
