May I ask are you still able to log in via https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info?
If yes, you can remove your old phone number here and then register with a new phone number.
If you are completely locked out of your account, please contact your school's IT admin. They will be able to reset your password as well as your MFA, this will regain your access to your account.

Once you regain access, it's a good idea to set up an additional sign-in method if your school allows it (Microsoft Authenticator), so you’ll have a backup option to sign in.
