When I open the first browser in Edge after I open my desktop it just sits there buffering and never opens. I have to select a second tab and open another browser which immediately opens and I can use my computer. Why is it doing this?

    Hello,

Please turn off all extensions and check again.

If you are using third-party security software, make sure it does not interfere with Microsoft Edge.

In Microsoft Edge, paste the following into the address bar and press Enter:

    edge://settings/system/managePerformance

Then try turning OFF the following settings to see if the issue improves:

    1. Enable performance detection
    2. Fade inactive tabs
    3. Enable efficiency mode
    4. Put inactive tabs to sleep automatically

The issue you're experiencing with Microsoft Edge buffering when you first open it could be related to several factors. One common cause is that the browser may be trying to load a page or resource that is taking longer than expected. Here are a few potential reasons for this behavior:

    1. Network Connectivity: If your internet connection is slow or unstable, it may cause Edge to buffer while trying to load the initial page.
    2. Browser Profile Conflicts: If there are conflicts with the browser profile, it may lead to issues when starting Edge. This can happen if another instance of Edge is using the same profile.
    3. Extensions or Add-ons: Sometimes, installed extensions can interfere with the browser's performance, causing delays in loading.
    4. System Resources: If your computer is low on resources (CPU or RAM), it may affect the performance of Edge, causing it to buffer.

To troubleshoot this issue, you might consider the following steps:

    • Check your internet connection for stability.
    • Disable any unnecessary extensions to see if performance improves.
    • Try launching Edge in a different profile or resetting the browser settings.
    • Ensure your system is not overloaded with background processes.

If the problem persists, you may want to reinstall Edge to see if that resolves the issue.
