Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.
I noticed you posted this under Microsoft 365 for iOS, so I just wanted to share something that may help clarify what’s happening.
Access and activation on mobile apps can depend on the type of subscription linked to the account you’re signing in with.
Some features and availability can depend on the subscription type.
For example, qualifying plans include:
- Microsoft 365 Family
- Microsoft 365 Personal
Non-qualifying plans include:
- Microsoft 365 Basic
- One-time purchase versions, such as Office Home & Student, Office Home & Business, or Office Professional.

To help narrow this down, it would be good to know which Microsoft 365 plan you currently have and whether you’re signing in with a personal or work/school account. That will help point you in the right direction. Or let me know where you are currently stuck in what steps.
