Jabra PanaCast50 camera disabled in Teams, but it works fine in other software.

On meeting room computers where multiple Active Directory (AD) accounts are logged in, I’ve observed that some users can use the Jabra PanaCast50 camera without issues in Microsoft Teams, while others are unable to access it. Notably, the Jabra camera functions perfectly in other applications, such as Zoom and the Windows Camera app. If we switch to a different camera device, Teams also works normally.

All relevant privacy and security settings for camera access are enabled (“Let apps access your camera” & “Let desktop apps access your camera”). Based on this, I believe the problem is isolated to how Teams interacts with the Jabra PanaCast50 camera when multiple AD accounts are involved.

Can you assist in troubleshooting or offer guidance on resolving this issue?

Thank you!

I was able to resolve the issue by de-activating the in-built webcam in the Device-Manager.

After performing a re-boot the Panacast 50 device was working fine again in MS Teams.

It did remain working also after re-activating the in-built webcam of my laptop.

    Hi @Boos, Philip,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for reaching out to us. I would like to provide you with the following information:

You have granted permission for the Teams application, but the Jabra PanaCast 50 camera is still disabled.

In this case, I recommend temporarily using the web version of Teams so the Jabra PanaCast 50 camera can function.

    https://teams.microsoft.com/

Meanwhile, please create a support ticket with Microsoft. After you create the ticket, a live agent will proactively contact you and assist in checking the settings and system of your tenant as well as your computers to determine whether any configuration or policy has unintentionally disabled Jabra PanaCast50 camera in Teams. (This process will not compromise your personal or tenant information.)

To create a ticket, please follow these steps:

    1. Access admin.microsoft.com using an account that has administrative privileges for the tenant. User's image
    2. Click Help and Support
    3. Enter the title: Support to check camera on Teams User's image
    4. Click Contact Support
    5. Choose your preferred contact method User's image

Once the system receives and assigns the ticket to an agent, the agent will proactively contact you using the method you selected and help you perform a deeper check on the device settings.

Note: As a moderator, I lack the tools to investigate the issue between the device and the computer in depth. Thank you very much for your understanding.

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to continuing the conversation.

It sounds like you're experiencing a specific issue with the Jabra PanaCast50 camera in Microsoft Teams when multiple Active Directory accounts are logged in. Here are some troubleshooting steps and considerations that may help resolve the issue:

    1. Check Teams Permissions: Ensure that Microsoft Teams has the necessary permissions to access the camera for all users. Sometimes, permissions can be user-specific, and even if the global settings are correct, individual user settings may need to be checked.
    2. Update Teams: Ensure that Microsoft Teams is updated to the latest version. Sometimes, compatibility issues with specific hardware can be resolved with software updates.
    3. Device Settings in Teams: In Teams, go to the settings (click on your profile picture > Settings > Devices) and ensure that the Jabra PanaCast50 is selected as the camera. Sometimes, Teams may default to a different camera if it detects multiple devices.
    4. Restart Teams: Have the affected users completely exit Microsoft Teams and restart the application. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.
    5. Check for Conflicts: Since the camera works in other applications, check if there are any other applications running that might be using the camera simultaneously, which could cause conflicts.
    6. Reinstall Teams: If the issue persists, consider uninstalling and then reinstalling Microsoft Teams for the affected users. This can help reset any corrupted settings.
    7. Check for Group Policies: Since multiple AD accounts are involved, check if there are any Group Policies that might be affecting camera access for specific users.
    8. Contact Support: If none of the above steps work, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance, as they may have more insights into specific issues with Teams and the Jabra PanaCast50 camera.

These steps should help you troubleshoot the issue with the Jabra PanaCast50 camera in Microsoft Teams.
