Changing between multiple Teams Free accounts within the app or browser
To sign in to Microsoft Teams using a different account, you can follow these steps:
- Sign Out of the Current Account: Make sure you are completely signed out of Account #1. You can do this by clicking on your profile icon in Teams and selecting "Sign out".
- Clear Credentials: If Teams still signs you in automatically with Account #1 after signing out, it may be due to cached credentials. You can try clearing the Teams cache:
- Close Microsoft Teams.
- Navigate to
%appdata%\Microsoft\Teamsin File Explorer. - Delete the contents of this folder.
- Restart Teams and try signing in with Account #2.
- Use the "Add Another Account" Feature: If you are still having issues, ensure that you are using the "Add another account" option correctly. However, note that currently, Teams does not support multiple personal accounts simultaneously. If you are trying to add another personal account, you may encounter limitations.
- Check for Updates: Make sure that your Teams application is up to date, as updates may include improvements to account management.
If these steps do not resolve your issue, you may need to check with your organization's IT support or refer to Microsoft support for further assistance.
