How do I sync my Google Calendar with my Outlook Calendar?

Open your Google Calendar

Go to the calendar you want to sync and hover over it. Click the 3 dots menu and select settings and sharing.

Scroll down to "secret address in iCal format" and press the copy button you see next to it.

In the pop-up click OK

Go to Outlook and in the sidebar, click the calendar icon.

Then click "add calendar"

In the pop up click "subscribe from web"

Click the box and paste the url by using Command + V.

Then, name your calendar. You can also customize it to your liking.

Once you are done. select import.

Note: this method is done using the web versions of both the calendars. The mac versions of the calendars behaves a little differently. I would recommend you do the transformation on the web calendars first, and then they will also show up in your Mac calendars.

Based on my testing, Outlook for Mac does support syncing Google Calendar as long as the Gmail account is added directly in Outlook. When you add your Google account, Outlook opens a browser window so you can grant Google permissions, and then your Google Calendar events appear in Outlook. Regarding your second question about syncing Outlook Calendar to Excel for reminders such as birthdays or deadlines: after trying several approaches, including exporting an ICS file, the results were inconsistent and not usable as a clean Excel sheet. At this time, it doesn’t seem possible to create a smooth, automatic sync from Outlook Calendar to Excel.
