My renewal was paid and accepted, but I still cannot edit documents. I've signed in and given my pass code multiple times. I have Basic.

Hello Patricia Siegmund, thanks for posting this in the community.

First, go to Microsoft Account Services and confirm that your Microsoft 365 Basic subscription is active and the renewal date is correct. If it still shows expired, try refreshing the page or signing out and back in.

Make sure you are signed in with the same Microsoft account that holds the subscription. If you are using Word, Excel, or other apps on your device, note that Microsoft 365 Basic does not include desktop Office applications. This plan only supports web and mobile versions of Office apps.

To edit documents, sign in at Office.com and open Word, Excel, or PowerPoint online. These web apps allow you to create and edit documents without needing the desktop version. You can also use the free Office mobile apps on iOS or Android by signing in with your Microsoft account.

If you still experience issues editing online, clear your browser cache or try a different browser. Also, ensure you are logged in with the correct account on Office.com.

Microsoft 365 Basic includes 100 GB of OneDrive storage, ad-free Outlook email, and access to web and mobile Office apps. If you need full desktop Office apps for offline editing, you’ll need to upgrade to Microsoft 365 Personal or Family.

    Kind regards,

    John Oli
