Mail merge grayed out

All my functionalities in Word are greyed out. I have a current subscription to MS 365, and I need to create a labels from a spread sheet. I have selected Outlook as my default

    Thanks for sharing the details, James! Try to reset Word’s Data Registry (very effective, rarely suggested)

    Word can think it’s locked due to corrupted UI/feature flags.

    Steps

    Close all Office apps

    Press Win + R

    Type:

    • regedit

    Navigate to:

    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Word\Data

    Right-click → Delete the Data folder

    Close Registry Editor

    Restart Word

    This does not delete documents or settings permanently. Word rebuilds this key.
