Microsoft Teams does not provide a way to save a simple setup for the camera. MS choose to not allow user to save the default background of its camera.

If one wants to have a blur background by default, one has to set it manualy EVERY TIME (ai answer 15/12/2025). This is so inconvenient when working from home.

I really hope MS can add this helpfull feature to Teams soon.

Actually, as far as I know, Teams remembers the last setting from camera background. So if you set the background on one of the calls, the same background will apply to all the subsequent calls, until it will be changed.

To set a blurred background as the default for your camera in Microsoft Teams, follow these steps:

Launch Microsoft Teams and enter a meeting or start a video call.
Before joining the call, look for the Background effects option, which is typically represented by an icon of a person with a background.
Click on this option to view the available background effects.
Choose the Blur option to apply a blurred background to your video feed.
While Teams does not currently allow you to permanently set this as a default for all future meetings, you can select it each time you join a call to maintain the blurred effect.

Keep in mind that the availability of background effects may depend on your camera and system specifications.

Thank you for raising this question. After reviewing the feature and running tests across multiple accounts and devices (including desktop and mobile), I can confirm what Ruwim.B mentioned earlier: Microsoft Teams does remember the last background setting you applied.

This means If you set your background to Blur during a meeting, Teams will keep that setting for all subsequent calls until you manually change it. You do not need to reapply the blur effect every time you join a meeting, just make sure you set it once, and it will persist.
