If all staff are unable to open assignments in Microsoft Teams, it could be due to a few reasons. One common issue is related to permissions or settings in OneDrive, especially if the files are stored there. If the Limited-access user permission lockdown mode feature is activated on your OneDrive site, it can prevent users from accessing shared files, leading to errors when trying to open assignments.

To resolve this, you can deactivate the lockdown mode by following these steps:

    1. Sign into your OneDrive site.
    2. Select the Setting icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
    3. Go to OneDrive Settings > More Settings.
    4. Under Features and storage, select Site Collection Features.
    5. Locate Limited-access user permission lockdown mode, and then select Deactivate.

If this does not resolve the issue, it may be beneficial to check for any ongoing service outages or issues with Microsoft Teams that could be affecting all users. You can also run diagnostics within the Microsoft 365 Admin Center to verify possible issues with accessing files shared in Teams chat.

If the problem persists, contacting Microsoft support for further assistance would be advisable.
