Hi Brianna,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum!
Have a good day and I hope you're doing well!
I know it’s confusing when every guide shows a tiny arrow next to Send and it’s missing on your screen. Let me clarify what it is and why you might not see it.
That small triangle opens a drop-down for Schedule send (Schedule a message to be sent later). It lets you pick the exact date and time for your email to go out.
When you schedule a send:
- The email stays in your Drafts folder until the date and time you chose.
- It will be sent automatically even if Outlook isn’t open on your computer.
In the New Outlook for Mac, the Schedule send control may not appear in some environments yet. You’ll only see it when your setup meets the requirements below.
Supported versions: Microsoft 365 subscription, Outlook 2019 for Mac, Outlook 2021 for Mac.
How to check: Outlook > About Outlook
Account type:
- Requires an Exchange account (for example, Outlook.com hosted on Microsoft 365 or an Exchange server on Exchange 2016 CU5 or later).
- Not supported with IMAP or POP accounts such as Gmail, Yahoo, or iCloud.

If you meet the requirements but still don’t see it. Try switching to Legacy/Classic Outlook for Mac (if available): go to Outlook > Revert to Legacy Outlook. This helps us determine whether the issue is related to the new interface or something specific to your version/account. If possible, let me know what you find so we can assist further.
I hope this helps clarify how Schedule send works and why the arrow might be missing on your screen. If anything’s unclear, if I misunderstood your setup, or if you have more questions, feel free to reach out anytime!
