Hello everyone,

I’m encountering an issue with Win11 Quick Access after modifying my personal folder name. Here’s the detailed situation:

  1. I recently changed the name of my personal folder
  2. Now, when I try to open this folder via Quick Access(open personal folder while opening quick access feature), a "File not found" error pops up, indicating that Quick Access is still referencing the old folder path.

What should I do to resolve this problem?

(Since the locale and language you used to post the question is English, but the images you attached are in Chinese, I will respond in English and include some instructions in Chinese to match the screenshots you provided. Welcome Rainfield,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum. I am sorry to hear about your issue when you rename your personal folder in Windows 11, Quick Access still pointing to the old folder path.

You can try some steps below to troubleshoot the issue:

Option 1: Reset Quick Access items

    • Close all File Explorer windows.
    • Open Command Prompt and run as administrator. Execute the following two commands one by one:
    • del /f /q "%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations\*"    del /f /q "%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\CustomDestinations\*"
    • After that, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc → find Windows 资源管理器 (Windows Explorer) → right-click → Restart.
    • Then try opening Quick Access and the personal folder again.

Option 2: Change “Open File Explorer to” back to Quick Access

    • In your screenshot, the option “打开文件资源管理器时打开:” is set to your personal folder (Rainfield – 个人). If the stored path there is invalid, you will get an error.
    • In File Explorer, click the three dots (…) → select 选项 (Folder Options).
    • At the top, change “打开文件资源管理器时打开:” from Rainfield – 个人 back to:
    • 快速访问 (Quick Access)
    • Click 确定 (OK).

Now use the left navigation pane to open your user folder instead of using that drop-down.

Option 3: Reset Quick Access Using Registry Editor

    • Open Registry Editor
    • Paste the following path in the address bar at the top and press Enter to navigate to the Ribbon key. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Ribbon
    • Locate the QatItems entry in the right pane. Right-click on it > select Delete from the context menu
    • Select Yes to confirm. Restart your PC and check if Quick Access works.

I really hope that the information I gave above was helpful to you. Please feel free to reply below and let me know if you have further concern on this matter.
