I just spent the weekend on the same problem.
Setup:
- Living Room - Play Bar hard wired, Wi-Fi enabled and SonosNet configured+2 Symfonik wall speakers
- Bedroom - single Symfonik bookshelf speaker
Sonos App on Android
- Detects system and all devices, albeit I have issues with devices dropping off and on (another problem)
- Can control and play to devices and rooms
Sonos App on Windows
- After having to update all my devices firmware and the app, the app could no longer find my system
- Uninstalled, reinstalled, disabled Windows firewall
- Tried hard wiring my computer, switching Play Bar to only Wi-Fi and disabled Wi-Fi
- Looked into the diagnostic endpoints of the devices (http://ip-address:1400/support/review)
I suspected it had something to do with the device discovery, but neither my router/firewall, DNS, or software on my computer was the problem.
TURNS OUT THE (NEW) SONOS APP (I held off on updating for a long time for exactly this reason) has a bloody upnp toggle, and not in the section you would expect!
In your (working) mobile Sonos App:
- Go to your Account settings (not the Settings gear)
- Under Legal and Privacy -> Privacy & Security
- Under Connection Security -> enable UPnP
You should be able to discover your Sonos system on your Windows computer now. This likely would affect Mac OS installations as well.
