Hmmm… can't reach this page

It looks like www.msn.com closed the connection.

Try:

ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED

Check your Internet connection

Check your network cables, modem, and routers.

Allow Microsoft Edge to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings.

If it's already listed as a program allowed to access the network, try removing it from the list, and adding it again.

If you use a proxy server:

Go to the Microsoft Edge menu > Settings > System > Open your computer's proxy settings > LAN Settings and deselect the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" checkbox.

This is what shows every time I try to open Google or articles on Edge.

It started when it said I maxed my data recently I have never had mention of data since ever. I have had no problem with it for years now this. Internet with Bell works great I am using Avast free internet to get work done for now.

It seems like you're experiencing connectivity issues with Microsoft Edge, which might be related to your proxy settings or firewall configuration. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your internet connection is stable. You can try accessing other websites to confirm.
    2. Firewall and Antivirus Settings: Make sure that Microsoft Edge is allowed to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings. If it is already listed, try removing it and adding it back again.
    3. Proxy Settings: If you're using a proxy server, you can check your proxy settings by going to the Microsoft Edge menu > Settings > System > Open your computer's proxy settings > LAN Settings. Ensure that the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" checkbox is deselected if you do not need a proxy.
    4. Network Reset: Since you mentioned that the issue started after a data limit was reached, consider resetting your network settings. This can sometimes resolve lingering connectivity issues.
    5. Reinstall Edge: If none of the above steps work, you might want to consider reinstalling Microsoft Edge to ensure that it is functioning correctly.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, it may be beneficial to contact your internet service provider for further assistance.

Hi Paul, sounds like Edge is having trouble connecting because the connection is being closed before it loads the page. That usually happens when something like a proxy setting, firewall rule, or antivirus is blocking it. Since you mentioned Avast and hitting a data limit, it’s possible Avast’s web shield or a proxy setting got turned on when the data warning appeared. First, check if other browsers work fine, if they do, it’s definitely Edge-specific. Try turning off any proxy in your LAN settings and temporarily disable Avast’s web shield to see if Edge opens. Also, remove Edge from your firewall’s allowed apps and add it back. If nothing changes, can you confirm if you’re on Wi-Fi or wired, and whether other apps are connecting normally?

    Regards,

    Rez
