    Dear @Account Security,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Before giving you the best solution, could you please confirm these questions below to help me diagnose the issue more effectively.

    • Does your account use a personal account (@outlook.com/@hotmail.com email), or is it a work/school account (e.g., @company.com)?
    • If you are using business account, are you the admin in your company? If yes, are you the only admin or there are other admins in your company? Is your iPhone managed by your company through Intune/Company Portal, or is it a personal device without Company Portal installed?
    • Can you sign-in to the affected account in other applications?
    • Do you currently have Microsoft Authenticator installed and working on this phone?
    • When you try to sign in to Outlook, what exact error message do you see?
    • Did you previously use this same work account on another phone, and was MFA reset after Apple replaced the software?
    • Can you sign in to your account on another device (like a laptop or tablet)? Or on this iPhone, can you sign in to any other Microsoft account using the Outlook app?

In the meantime, here are some steps I recommend you try:

Step 1: Update iOS & Outlook versions

    • Update iOS (Settings > General > Software Update).

Update Outlook and Microsoft Authenticator in the App Store.

Step 2: Disable VPN / content filters temporarily

If you use a VPN, ad‑blocker, or private DNS, turn it off while you sign in. These can block device compliance checks and modern auth

Step 3: Sign out & remove old accounts

Outlook > Tap your avatar > Settings > Accounts > Remove account.

Step 4: Uninstall and reinstall the Outlook app

Install Microsoft Outlook from the App Store > Open Outlook > Add Account > enter your email.

Step 5: Clear cache and restart the phone

Then, to set up Office apps and email on a mobile device, please follow the Microsoft instruction here: Set up Office apps and email on a mobile device

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this. If I misunderstand anything, please feel free to reach out.

To get Outlook working on your phone, you can follow these general steps:

    1. Download the Outlook App: Go to the App Store on your iPhone and search for "Microsoft Outlook." Download and install the app.
    2. Set Up Your Account: Open the Outlook app after installation. You will be prompted to add your email account. Enter your email address and password. If you have a Microsoft 365 account, it should automatically configure the settings for you.
    3. Check for Updates: Ensure that both your iPhone and the Outlook app are updated to the latest versions. Sometimes, installation issues can arise from outdated software.
    4. Network Connection: Make sure your phone is connected to the internet, either through Wi-Fi or cellular data, as Outlook requires an internet connection to set up and sync your emails.
    5. Troubleshooting Installation Issues: If you encounter issues during installation, you may want to try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Additionally, check if there are any restrictions on your device that might prevent the installation of apps from the App Store.

If you continue to face problems, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance.
