Hi, concerned guy here, recently I got a headphone splitter for my realtek brand headset, worked like a charm despite the mic not working at all, suddenly out of the blue no matter what jack i plug either part of the adapter into, now sound doesn't transmit, any help?

Can you test the splitter on a differet device and see if it wrks? It is important to find out if the issue is the splitter or the computer first before any furthr troubleshootng.

Try to plug the headset into your PC's headphone jack. What happens then? If it works, I believe your splitter is broken.
Do you have an option to test this splitter on another pc or laptop?
Also, try to go to Sound settings -> Make sure the correct output device is selected, if there are few, try switching between them to figure out of something changes.
