Synapse Spark Pool stuck in Provisioning state and cannot be deleted

Hello Azure Support,

Our Azure Synapse Spark Pool "spicebergsmall" is stuck in the Provisioning state, and we cannot delete or update it.

Error Message:

  • ResourceInUnupdatableState: Spark pool is not in a terminal state (Succeeded or Failed). CurrentState = Provisioning.

Actions Tried:

Attempted deletion using az synapse spark pool delete

Terminated active Spark sessions

Waited several tens of minutes and retried

Attempted to delete the Synapse workspace (stuck in Deleting state)

Requested Action:

Please reset the provisioning state from the backend or forcibly delete the Spark Pool and related resources.

Resource Details:

Workspace: synw-iceberg-poc-kor

Resource Group: rg-iceberg-poc-kr

Spark Pool: spicebergsmall

Subscription: 7277f7c8-cff8-478d-88f2-505322c45e93
