To transfer photos from OneDrive to your computer, you can follow these steps:

    1. Access OneDrive: Open your web browser and go to the OneDrive website. Log in with your Microsoft account if prompted.
    2. Locate Your Photos: Navigate to the folder where your photos are stored.
    3. Download Photos: Select the photos you want to download. You can click on each photo or hold down the Ctrl key to select multiple photos. Once selected, look for the Download option, usually found in the toolbar at the top of the page. Click it to download the selected photos to your computer.
    4. Remove OneDrive: After successfully downloading your photos, if you wish to remove OneDrive, you can uninstall the OneDrive application from your computer. Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features, find OneDrive, and select Uninstall.

This process will allow you to safely transfer your photos and remove OneDrive from your computer if desired.

    Good morning Justin Stoltman,

The steps outlined by the AI are technically correct. I’d like to just add a couple of details to make sure the process goes smoothly:

If you already had OneDrive installed on your PC, your photos may already be synced locally under the OneDrive folder. In that case, you can simply copy them to another folder on your computer before uninstalling OneDrive. If you’re using the web interface, downloading very large numbers of photos at once can sometimes time out. It’s safer to select folders or smaller groups of files. Before removing OneDrive, double‑check that all the photos you need are safely stored on your computer (and ideally backed up elsewhere).

Once you’ve confirmed your files are copied, you can uninstall OneDrive via Settings → Apps → Installed apps.

If you prefer not to uninstall, you can also simply disable OneDrive from starting automatically, which keeps the app installed but inactive.

I hope you find this piece of information useful to some extent. It's really appreciated of you to accept the answer as a way to share your valuable experience with the community. Thank you :)

    Vivian
