I was watching a dance video online and my sound suddenly disappeared. I might have changed something by mistake, but I can't get the sound back.

I see a few reports of this today and yesterday, so this may be an emerging problem in Windows 11.

Open the Settings App, go to System Troubleshoot - Other Troubleshooters.

Run the Audio Troubleshooter from there, to see if that can find and solve the problem.

If that does not resolve the problem, go to the support page for your PC on the manufacturers website to download and re-install the version of HD Audio drivers and Graphics drivers they provide.

If your sound suddenly disappeared while watching a video, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Volume Levels: Ensure that the volume on your computer is turned up and not muted. You can do this by clicking on the speaker icon in the system tray.
    2. Audio Device Settings: Make sure that the correct audio output device is selected. Sometimes, the audio might switch to a different device. Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray, select "Playback devices," and ensure your desired output device is set as default.
    3. Restart the Application: Close the video application or browser and reopen it. This can sometimes resolve temporary audio issues.
    4. Reboot Your Computer: Restarting your computer can help reset any audio settings that may have changed inadvertently.
    5. Check for Updates: Ensure that your audio drivers are up to date. You can check for updates in the Device Manager under "Sound, video and game controllers."

If the issue persists after trying these steps, you may want to look into any specific troubleshooting guides related to your audio device or the application you are using to play the video.

    Hello,

Please try this and let me know if that works :

go to settings > System > Sound > Volume mixer

Check if the volume is enabled for the particular app and also ensure the output for that particular app.

Also as you mentioned that you were on edge browser, please chec if you haven't muted the site.

Right click on site and check if there is any option available for 'Unmute site'

    Thanks !!
