I am requesting an increase in the Microsoft Fabric regional quota for our subscription. When trying to increase the Fabric capacity in the Azure portal from F8 to F64, I am now receiving this error. Can you please assist with the correct request to increase? Thank you!

    Hello Tracy Thomas,

You are trying to increase Microsoft Fabric capacity in the Azure portal from F8 (8 Capacity Units) to F64 (64 Capacity Units). However, you are receiving an error because the regional quota for Microsoft Fabric in your subscription does not currently allow this increase.

The error occurs because your subscription’s quota limit for Microsoft Fabric in that region is lower than 64 CUs. To scale to F64, you must first request a quota increase for Microsoft Fabric in the Azure portal. Azure enforces regional quota limits for services like Microsoft Fabric to prevent resource over-allocation. When you try to scale beyond your current quota (e.g., from F8 to F64), the portal blocks the change until the quota is increased. This is a safeguard for capacity planning and billing.

To request for the quota increase for the subscription, you can contact Azure support directly via the help section in the Azure portal.

Here are the steps you can follow to create support requests:

    • Go to Azure portal > Search for Help + Support or https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_Azure_Support/HelpAndSupportBlade/~/overview
    •  Click on Create a Support Request
    • On right-side panel, enter quota and click Go > select the issue with "Service and subscription limits (Quotas)” then click next > click the Create support request on the bottom. User's image
    • Select the Quota type as Microsoft Fabric, then click on the Next__.__ User's image
    • Fill all the additional detail information and provide a clear description of your issue and click Next
    • Review and create as submit the support request

Kindly check the below documentation for more details: How to create an Azure support request - Azure supportability | Microsoft Learn

Hope this helps! If you encounter any issues, please reach out to us. thanks
