How do I stop hand from drawing in OneNote on my tablet?

Hi there,

I have a Lenovo Tab M11 with a smart pen and I want to handwrite notes on OneNote. However whenever I try to write with the smart pen, I will get 'ink splodges' everywhere my hand is touching, making it impossible to write anything. Is there a way for OneNote to only recognise the smart pen and not my hand when I write?

Cheers!

    Hi Gabriel,

Thank you so much for your response. I've double checked that OneNote is fully updated as of Oct 26. When I select the drawing tab on the app, I'm unable to find a drawing mode option, so I can't see whether draw with touch is disabled or not.

I checked the drawing function on other apps such as sketchbook and notes and there isn't an issue. It's only with OneNote, I'm still having issues with it's palm rejection.

    Thanks!

    Hi Auden

Thank you for posting your question on the Microsoft Q&A forum.

While I don’t have access to the exact same device (Lenovo Tab M11), I’d love to help. Please try the following suggestions that have helped other users with similar setups:

    • In OneNote, click on the Draw tab. If you see the Drawing Mode option, ensure that Draw with Touch is disabled.
    • Check your tablet’s settings for pen-related options. Look for a setting such as Ignore touch input when using my pen and make sure it’s enabled.
    • Make sure you have the latest version of OneNote from the Google Play Store, and check Lenovo’s support site for any firmware updates for your Tab M11 and smart pen.

For reference, you can also check this thread: Palm rejection onenote

    Hope this info is helpful!
