Hello, I have lost access to my Microsoft Authenticator app, and without it I can’t sign in to my OneDrive, Outlook, or Teams accounts. To log in to Microsoft Authenticator, I also need the Authenticator code, but I don’t have any device with an active session, and there are no other verification options available. Please respond as soon as possible — I urgently need access for my studies.

Thank you in advance. Kind regards.

    Hi ZECHENG

Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand that losing access can feel frustrating. Since your account is managed by your educational institution, please understand that Microsoft is not able to directly reset these authentication settings. The quickest way to regain access is to contact your school’s IT support team, who can assist you in restoring your MFA directly.

To quickly reset your multi-factor authentication (MFA) settings through the Microsoft Entra Admin Center, just ask them to follow these simple steps: Manage authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication - Microsoft Entra ID | Microsoft Learn

This action will enforce a reset, enabling you to reconfigure Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Once the reset has been completed, you will then be able to set up the Authenticator application again.

If you’re unsure who to contact, please check your school’s website for IT support/ help desk contact information or try to find a link on your university site.

I hope your issue will be resolved quickly. If you or your IT support team need any further assistance, please feel free to ask in the comment section.

I'm looking forward to your update!

If you have lost access to your Microsoft Authenticator app and cannot sign in to your accounts, you will need to reset your account's multifactor authentication (MFA) settings. Here are some steps you can take:

    1. Contact your IT support: If you are part of an organization, reach out to your IT support team. They can help reset your MFA settings so you can set up the Authenticator app on your new device.
    2. Use alternative verification methods: If you have set up other verification methods (like SMS or email), you may be able to use those to verify your identity and regain access to your accounts.
    3. Account recovery: If you are unable to access your accounts through the above methods, you may need to go through the account recovery process provided by Microsoft. This usually involves verifying your identity through other means.
    4. Set up MFA again: Once you regain access, make sure to set up the Microsoft Authenticator app again on your new device to avoid similar issues in the future.

For more detailed instructions, you can refer to the Microsoft documentation on managing user and device settings with Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication.
