While creating sql managed instance in france central with GP_Gen4, I got the error:
managed Instance is not accepting creation of instances with General Purpose edition and Generation 4 hardware in this region.
But in the documentation, it says that Gen4 and Gen5 are allowed.
So is it not allowed in specific regions? where can i find a doc about which region supports Gen4 and which support Gen5

Azure SQL Gen4 hardware was retired on 2023 based on the Azure Updates web site. Please read here. Managed Instance Documentation only shows Gen5 hardware available, not Gen4 available. I also found the following statement on Azure SQL documentation:

"Gen4 hardware has been retired and isn't available for provisioning, upscaling, or downscaling".

    Hi S, Noorjahan (Allianz Technology)
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A and thank you for posting your question.

Gen4 hardware for Azure SQL Managed Instance has been retired for new deployments across all regions. This means you cannot create new instances using General Purpose Gen4 in France Central or any other region.

Currently, Gen5 and premium-series hardware are the supported options for new SQL Managed Instance deployments. Existing Gen4 instances will continue to run, but creation of new ones is blocked globally.
