Hi @Aldo Juarez,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
I understand you're facing an issue where the microphone volume on your Surface Hub is stuck at zero and you're unable to adjust it. Given that other Surface devices work fine and you can change the volume there, this suggests that the issue could be specific to the Surface Hub's settings or its drivers.
Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to try and resolve the issue:
- Adjust on Surface Hub 2S and Hub 3 devices
If you're using one of these two Surface devices, you can try these steps to fix your issue:
- Open Device Manager from the Start menu.
- Click “Audio Processing Objects” > right-click Voice Clarity > uninstall
- When prompted, check the box that says “Attempt to remove the driver for this device.”
- Restart your Surface Hub.
For your reference: Troubleshoot Microsoft Surface Hub.
- Windows privacy settings
- Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone.
- Make sure apps, especially Microsoft Teams, have permission to access the microphone. Sometimes, Windows privacy settings can block apps from using it.

- Check Teams audio device settings
While in a Microsoft Teams meeting:
- Click More options (···) and select Audio settings.
- Microphone: Choose the Surface Hub microphone, avoid selecting an external device or any option that’s disabled.
- Speaker: Make sure the correct output device is selected.

- Review Surface Hub settings
- Go to Settings > System > Audio.
- Look at the Microphone volume slider:
- If it’s stuck at zero, the Surface Hub might be in Teams Rooms mode or managed via Intune.
- In Teams Rooms mode, audio settings are controlled by the app and can’t be changed manually.
- If you have admin access, you can temporarily exit Teams Rooms mode to adjust the settings or check Intune configuration profiles for any audio restrictions.
Note: If the microphone slider is still locked after trying those steps, it’s likely due to an admin policy or a Teams Rooms configuration setting. In that case, you’ll need to ask your IT administrator to review the Teams Rooms settings and check the Intune device configuration to ensure that audio permissions aren’t being restricted by any security policies.
Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
I look forward to your reply.
