MS Word and Ipad. Word crashes when deleting an image

This one really is confusing me. When ever I access a word doc on my ipad Mini to change the content of it (replace a confirmation picture with a new one) as soon as I delete the image the app closed and defaults to the ipad home screen.

This only happens on my ipad mini and not on my ipad 11". Same document, same account etc.

I have ofloaded the app, and also deleted all MS apps from the ipad and reinstalled.

I am at a loss as to what is causing this. If anyone has a solution that would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using a personal Microsoft account or a business/organizational account provided by your company or institution?
Does this issue occur for other users in your organization as well?
What version of iPadOS is installed on your iPad Mini?
Have you try updating the IOS version?
Have you tried deleting different images in different documents, and does the crash always occur?
Does the crash happen only with this specific document or with multiple documents?

It's a business account

Issue is just me as I am the only users

IOS 26 latest update on the ipad

crash happens when I delete image in any document.

Have you try using a different Microsoft 365 account to access the Microsoft Word on the Ipad, does the issue still persist?

If the you have try another account on you Ipad and the issue still persist. I strongly recommend you to open a support request.

To resolve this, Microsoft’s support team will need to step in. A technical support engineer can perform a remote session to investigate the situation verify the backend configurations, and run any necessary synchronization tools to resolve the problem. If the issue requires further attention, they can escalate it to a specialized team for deeper analysis.
