    Dear @gin111,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Forum.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused. I understand that you're having an unexpected issue with the print function in OneNote on your Apple iPad running iOS 26.1 Release Candidate (RC). From my research, this points to a software integration issue between the latest iOS RC build and the OneNote application. This type of incident is common when using Release Candidate/Beta versions of an operating system, as app developers (Microsoft, in this case) often have not yet finalized compatibility updates for that specific OS build.

We have also received reports from many users that tapping the Share button causes the OneNote app to crash, close automatically, or become unresponsive. This appears to be an unusual behavior following the latest OneNote update combined with the recent iPadOS update.

For reference: OneNote's PDF export feature not working on iPad after recent update (Note: Microsoft is providing this information as a convenience to you. As a forum moderator, I genuinely wish I could directly access your account or delve into the backend systems to diagnose and fix this for you. However, our role here is limited to providing general guidance and solutions that can be applied by users.

A permanent fix will require either a new iOS update from Apple or a new OneNote update from Microsoft. In the meantime, you can try these steps:

1.Access via Standard iOS Share Menu

Try accessing the print/export functionality through the standard iOS share sheet, which might use a different process than the broken OneNote menu.

    1. While viewing your OneNote page, look for the three dots (...) or a Share icon (a box with an arrow pointing up) that may be outside the 'Draw' tab, or in the main menu when viewing the notebook list.
    2. Select the standard Share action.
    3. If this opens the standard iOS share sheet, look for Print or Markup/Export to PDF options there.

    2.Client Refresh

If the standard share menu is also broken, a fresh install of OneNote might fix a corrupt local file used for the share function.

    1. Ensure all notebooks are fully synced (check the sync status on the main notebook list).
    2. Close OneNote completely.
    3. Delete/Uninstall the OneNote app from your iPad.
    4. Restart the iPad.
    5. Re-download and install OneNote from the App Store.
    6. Sign back in and let the notes re-sync.

    3.Long-Term Fix

Since the issue is tied to the latest iOS update, the only definitive resolution options are:

Wait for the Official iOS 26.1 Release: The full public release often includes final stability fixes that resolve these integration issues.

    4.Official Reporting

Please report this issue directly to both companies as an official beta/RC tester:

    • Microsoft (OneNote): Use the in-app feedback tool (often found under Settings or the three dots (...) menu).
    • Apple (iOS 26.1 RC): Use the Feedback Assistant app on your iPad to report the OneNote print failure specific to the iOS 26.1 RC build.

I hope this information helps clarify the situation and provides you with workable solutions. We regret that the resolution is dependent on external updates, but directing you to the official reporting channels is the most effective help we can provide from our position. I truly hope you get your issue resolved swiftly. I wish you all the best.
