User facing issue with Teams app inside Azure VDI

As you have already performed the Reinstalling of teams and Recreating the profile. 

So just a few things to check for Teams on your AVD setup! 

Make sure Teams media optimization is set up right by following the Media Optimization for Microsoft Teams guide.

If you’re using FSLogix profiles, double-check you’ve got the latest update or hotfix, and make sure group policies aren’t blocking Teams from accessing devices.

Sometimes just updating the Teams client to the latest version for your Windows image can fix things. Also, see if your security software is getting in the way—try turning it off briefly to test.

Don’t forget to check the Event Viewer logs for any Teams errors; those can be super helpful. 

If you’re still running into issues after all that, a few quick questions: 

Are you on Windows 10 or 11 in AVD? 

Have you spotted any Teams-related errors in Event Viewer?

Is there extra security software or policies that might block device access? 

Was there been any recent changes to your AVD setup that could impact Teams?

Yes, but the issue is occurring only for one user. We have 85 machines and over 400 users accessing the same VDI environment without any problems. We tried deleting the user’s profile from the FSLogix share for this specific user, but even with a new profile, the user continues to face the same issue with Teams app inside VDI.

There are no issues for any other users on the same session hosts. We are currently using Windows 11 multi-session.

Following our ongoing troubleshooting of the Microsoft Teams microphone and camera permission issue reported by a single user in your Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Windows 11 multi-session environment, please review and implement the following targeted configurations and checks:

1. Verify Group Policy / Intune Configuration

Ensure Microsoft Teams is explicitly allowed to access the microphone and camera via Group Policy or Intune:

Path: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > App Privacy

Enable: Let Windows apps access the microphone

Set: Let apps access the microphone to Force Allow

These settings ensure that Windows permits microphone access for Teams without requiring user consent, which helps resolve hidden permission restrictions.

2. Please confirm that the microphone and camera are enabled and accessible from within the Teams application settings.
3. Close and restart the Teams application to ensure the new settings and permissions are applied correctly.
4. Clear Teams Cache and Registry for the Affected User

Remove any potentially corrupted cache or registry entries by deleting the following registry key:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\Teams

This will help eliminate any residual configuration conflicts.

5.Check for relevant event error logs under: windows>> event viewer >> application logs
