Submitting pdf from OneNote on ipad to Canvas is not working after Microsoft Update

Thank you for the response. Here are the answers to your questions.

1. Microsoft OneNote Version 16.102(25101016) On iPad with iOS 26.0.1 but some students are on 18.5 on iPad 8th generation
2. When we select "send copy of page" it blinks like it is preparing the pdf and then that just disappears and nothing happens.
3. It affects all students on the latest version of Microsoft OneNote.
4. This class notebook is linked to an Microsoft 365 Education account
5. Here is a screenshot of what is happening.

I appreciate any of your help on this matter. The students have tried to go to the online version on their iPads instead of the app and it is still not working.

This confirms it’s the known issue in OneNote for iOS introduced in mid-October affecting PDF export and share workflows, especially for Class Notebook linked to Education accounts. Canvas integration depends on that export, so the failure blocks submissions. And you are using an iOS device, this behavior is likely due to a compatibility problem between the latest OneNote update and recent iPadOS changes.

To ensure this issue is addressed as quickly as possible, please report it directly within the OneNote app: 

• Go to your OneNote app and navigate to Settings > Help > Report a Problem 
• Follow the prompt to report about this issue

You can use these workarounds while waiting for the next updates:  

1. Use Print-to-PDF instead of Send Copy
   • In OneNote:
   • Tap Share > Send Copy of Page > Send with Another App
   • Choose Print → Save as PDF → Upload manually to Canvas.
2. Split Large Pages
   • If the page has heavy content (images, embedded files), break it into smaller sections before exporting.
3. Use OneNote Desktop or Web on PC/Mac
   • Export as PDF from desktop and upload to Canvas.
4. Update iPadOS
   • Ensure devices are on the latest iPadOS (some users report partial fixes on 17.5.1)

Thank you. Unfortunately the report a problem is not an option on the iPads. It now just says Send Feedback so my students used that and clicked Tell Us what could be better. Hopefully this will help.
