Hello.

I have been hacked using MDM. I’m a home user not working for corporation or studying university.

I am part of a network which I think mean I have been forced enrolled into the network. My operating system is Windows 11 Pro, but inside is actually Windows NT. They install new OS inside my PC so they can watch me. The hackers cause so much problem for me and I already make police report.

Now I want to know who do I report this to at Microsoft? Also what identification of the network can I find to show Microsoft? MDM sure got some sort of code or something right?

Thank you very much.

    Hello @Equatorial Smurf ,

The value Windows_NT in system variables is normal and not a sign of hacking. It’s a legacy identifier that Windows uses internally for compatibility with older applications and scripts. Even on Windows 11, you’ll see OS=Windows_NT in environment variables because the NT kernel is the foundation of all modern Windows versions. Microsoft kept the identifier for backward compatibility. It does not mean a different operating system is installed inside your PC.

If you’re still concerned about unauthorized changes, the safest approach is:

    • Reset your PC (Remove everything).
    • Reinstall Windows from official Microsoft media.
    • Update BIOS and enable Secure Boot.

Microsoft always recommends that you always back up your data on a secure platform.
