Hello Amy Wright,
Thank you for posting your question on Microsoft Q&A forum
Based on your description, it seems your account has been placed under a Microsoft Family setup, and your profile is currently treated as a child account.
To fix this issue you will need access to the parental account, if you don’t know the credentials, you’ll need to recover them via https://account.live.com/password/reset
After you have access to the parental account:
- Go to https://family.microsoft.com
- Sign in with the organizer account.
- Select your account and choose "Remove from family group".
Feel free to reply back to this post to update about your issue, I'll be happy to help you resolve it.
