Windows App shows two icons when using Remote App Streaming with AVD App Attach

Hi there,

We are seeing two icons displayed in the Windows App for an application that has been configured as a msix app an uploaded into an app attach package and using remotr app streaming. We don't see this behaviour in the browser. Has anyone else come across this behaviour?

Could you please answer below queries to help us understand the issue better:

Is it same across on all host machines for all the users?

Are you using Windows based OS where you have installed Windows App?

Do both icons load for the same application, do they have any different name mentioned with it or any difference in the icon?

Are you using latest Windows App version if not what version it is?

Have you tried stopping and clearing Windows App cache and if it still shows same?

Do both icons load for the same application, do they have any different name mentioned with it or any difference in the icon? Yes. Same Name. It's like an exact duplicate

Are you using latest Windows App version if not what version it is? Latest version

Have you tried stopping and clearing Windows App cache and if it still shows same? No. Not sure this would help. It was like this at first logon

Hi Gerry, we have come across this issue as well. For us, the issue only occurs when we specify a path to an icon for the app in the application group. If we leave this blank, then the app doesn't duplicate. (but then we are left with a low-resolution image).

I have confirmed this does not happen on the browser or the deprecated Remote Desktop app. We tested several versions of the Windows App:

Version	Result
2.0.757.0	Shows duplicate apps
2.0.706.0	Shows duplicate apps
2.0.704.0	Shows duplicate apps
2.0.660.0	Shows duplicate apps
2.0.633.0	Shows duplicate apps
2.0.559.0	Shows duplicate apps

Hi Jonah, thats interesting. Thats exactly the pattern we see as well. It seems like a bug.
