I deleted a half marked assignment on Teams and need to restore it. Any ideas how to do this?

    Hello @Garrovillo Lisette,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A!

I understand you accidentally deleted an assignment in Microsoft Teams before completing the grading process and would like to restore it. Here’s what you can do:

Step 1: Check the SharePoint Site for Your Class

Assignments and student submissions are stored in the class’s SharePoint site.

    1. In Teams, go to your class team.
    2. Select Files > Open in SharePoint.
    3. Navigate to Site contents > Class Files > Assignments.
    4. Look for a folder with the same name as the deleted assignment. If found, you can download or review the student submissions there.

Step 2: Check the SharePoint Recycle Bin

If the folder is not visible:

    1. In SharePoint, scroll down the left menu and select Recycle Bin.
    2. Search for the deleted assignment folder or files.
    3. Select Restore to recover them.

Step 3: Contact Your IT Administrator if Needed

If the files are not in the Recycle Bin, please contact your school’s Microsoft 365 administrator. They can submit a service request to Microsoft Support within 14 days of deletion for possible recovery from the backend.

    Important Notes:

    • Deleted assignments cannot be restored to the Assignments tab in Teams; only the files can be recovered.
    • SharePoint retains deleted items for 30 days by default.

For more details, please refer to the official Microsoft documentation: How to recover missing, deleted or corrupted items in SharePoint and OneDrive for work or school

I hope this information helpful for you!

    Best Regards.
