AFAIK, if your usage stays within the free quota of Content Safety (both analysis and the logs/metrics they provide internally), you would not pay extra. If you exceed free quotas, you’ll pay for analysis (text/image) per request/record. If you use additional Azure services for monitoring/logging (e.g. exporting logs to Azure Monitor / Log Analytics, long-term retention, alerting etc.), those will have their own costs.

    Hello Anil kumar reddy kunduru,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A and thank you for posting your questions here.

I understand that your Content Safety Studio is free monitoring service for Azure Content Safety.

This is to give you clearer and more lucid explanatory:

    1. Content Safety Studio is simply a browser-based interface, not a separately billed product. All moderation actions inside the Studio use an attached Content Safety resource, so every request counts toward that resource’s quota or incurs API costs. - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-services/content-safety/overview
    2. The F0 (free) tier includes up to 5,000 text records and 5,000 image analyses per month. Once you hit this limit, requests stop instead of generating charges, making it safe for testing and evaluation. - https://azure.microsoft.com/pricing/details/ai-content-safety
    3. On the S tier, charges are based on usage volume: text is measured per 1,000-character “records” and images per request. The price per unit depends on your selected Azure region and currency always confirm on the - https://azure.microsoft.com/pricing/details/ai-content-safety/).
    4. If you export diagnostic logs or metrics to Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Event Hubs, or Storage, you’ll be billed by those services separately. Ingestion, retention, and egress costs from these tools can exceed moderation costs if unmanaged. - https://azure.microsoft.com/pricing/details/monitor
    5. Use Budgets and Alerts in Azure Cost Management to cap spending, and apply daily caps or retention rules in Log Analytics to control log costs. Keep Studio usage for testing only, and move production traffic through your API layer with aggregated logging. - https://learn.microsoft.com/azure/cost-management-billing/costs/cost-mgt-alerts-monitor-usage-spending
    6. Before switching to paid tiers, run estimates with the Azure Pricing Calculator - https://azure.microsoft.com/pricing/calculator using your expected text/image volumes plus any log export data. This provides a transparent monthly cost projection across Content Safety and monitoring services.

I hope this is helpful! Do not hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions or clarifications.
