HOW DO I FIND MY NOTES IN MY M365 (VERY IMP NOTES)

Hello Team,

I hope you all are doing,

I'm facing issues in M365 i was having very important notes from 5 years I'm using the same app for my notes and recently all my notes disappeared and cannot find it, i have tried different ways that Microsoft suggested but still failure to find the same.

Please advise as its very important notes and i didn't believe it that this can be happen in M365.

    Attached FYI, i have created my notes in 2 different account in M365 just because not to lose it and unfortunately both accounts doesn't have any notes, i also checked in onenote.

    Dear Team i still didn't find my notes and i believe M365 should have access to show my notes on my phone, Earlier the notes folder use to be there where we can convert the files to pdf and scan etc but now there is no notes folder and i was not using one notes app, i was just creat notes in M365 in the option button there was notes folder.Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

    I am so sorry to hear about this incredibly distressing situation. Losing five years of important notes is a terrible experience, and I completely understand your urgency and frustration. It is certainly not the reliable experience we aim to provide, and I apologize that this has happened.

    Let's work through all the possible recovery options methodically. The key to finding your notes is to check every place they could be stored: on your device, in the cloud, and in recycle bins. Please follow these steps in order:

    Step 1: Check OneDrive on the Web

    Your OneNote notebooks are synced and stored in your OneDrive. Let's check the source directly.

    1. On a computer, open OneDrive web.
    2. Sign in with the same Microsoft account you use for OneNote on your phone.
    3. Look for a folder named "Documents" or "Notebooks". Your OneNote files are usually stored here.
    4. If you see your notebook files, click on one to see if it opens in OneNote for the web with your notes intact. If it does, your data is safe in the cloud, and the issue is with the app on your phone.

    Step 2: Check the OneDrive Recycle Bin

    If you can't find the notebook in your main files, it may have been accidentally deleted.

    1. While still in OneDrive on the web, click on "Recycle bin" on the left-hand menu.
    2. Look for your notebook files. If you find them, select them and click "Restore".

    Step 3: If you are a Microsoft 365 subscriber, you may use the “Restore your OneDrive” option. Please follow the following document: Find lost or missing files in OneDrive

    I need to be transparent about the possibility of data loss. If the notes cannot be found in your OneDrive account (including the recycle bin) and do not appear on OneNote.com, it indicates a severe sync issue or that they were permanently deleted.

    In such a rare scenario, where the data is no longer in the cloud and there is no backup, I am very sorry to say that it is often not possible to recover the notes. Please understand and accept my apology because as a community moderator, we are not responsible for the development and design of Microsoft products and have limited resources for product development.

    Please thoroughly check your OneDrive account on a computer first, as this remains the most likely place to find your data. I truly hope that your notes are safe there and that these steps help you locate them.
