Just hours ago, I noticed that Deep Research mode disappeared from the Conversation mode menu on my web browser. I would like to know what is going on. Is it a bug, or has Microsoft changed it so that it is only available in Microsoft 365 Copilot or the App?

    Hi Nathan Fleischman,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

Thanks for your question, and you're not alone. Many users have noticed that Deep Research mode has recently disappeared from the Copilot conversation menu in the browser interface. According to Conversation Modes: Quick Response, Think Deeper, Deep Research, Smart - Microsoft Support

    • Deep Research mode is now exclusive to Copilot Pro subscribers.
    • It's being gradually removed from web-based Copilot for non-Pro users.

This change aligns with the rollout of Researcher and Analyst, two new reasoning agents in Microsoft 365 Copilot, designed for business and productivity use cases. So, if you want to continue using Deep Research mode, you can subscribe to Copilot Pro or use the special agents of Microsoft 365. If you're already subscribed and still don’t see the option, try:

    1. Signing out and back in
    2. Clearing browser cache
    3. Switching to the Copilot app

You can also try exploring alternatives like Think Deeper mode, which remains available to all signed-in users. Thanks for your time!
