2026-06-01T21:19:07.78+00:00 my replacement surface pro keyboard has again failed. The replacement keyboard was less than 1 year old. I have bought a new one as cannot afford to be without a keyboard for an extended period again but would like to be re-imbursed for the purchase as the keyboard was still under warranty

I'm sorry to hear your Surface keyboard isn't working after the Windows 11 update, especially since you've already tried some fixes. This problem sometimes occurs due to driver issues or firmware changes during updates.
Here's what we can do. First, try to run the surface diagnostic app. It can help you find fixes and updates for your surface device and its keyboard. Next, in Device Manager, check the Keyboards section for Surface Type Cover Filter Device or similar. If you find it, uninstall it and restart your Surface. Windows should reinstall the driver.Third, start your Surface in UEFI (hold Volume Up while pressing Power). See if the keyboard works there. If it does, the problem is probably software. If not, it might be hardware.
Which Surface model do you have, and is the keyboard detachable or built-in?
Let me know how these steps go. If they don't fix the problem, we can try other solutions, like a rollback or recovery.
I'm ready to help in any way I can.
