I have I have run all of the suggestions and it still does not work
the keyboard on surface has stopped working

I think it happened after I updated my version of windows 11. I have tried all the simple updates you find online. Help please

I have bought a new one as cannot afford to be without a keyboard for an extended period again but would like to be re-imbursed for the purchase as the keyboard was still under warranty

Next, in Device Manager, check the Keyboards section for Surface Type Cover Filter Device or similar. If you find it, uninstall it and restart your Surface. 2025-09-25T08:26:40.7066667+00:00 Thanks Rex. I have run all the suggested fixes and the keyboard still doesn’t work. I have a surface 7 and have recently updated windows 11 as my previous version had reached end of service. I wonder if the surface 7 keyboard is no longer supported by my windows upgrade. It may be a hardware failure I don’t know but I have bought a new third party keyboard and solved that way.
