Where to Find Authorization and License Numbers for RDS CAL Purchased via Open Value,Open License

I have purchased RDS CAL through Open Value (Open License) from a partner. I need to activate the license on the RDS server, so I would like to check the authorization number and license number. However, nothing is displayed under "Licenses" in the M365 Admin Center. Could you tell me where I can find the authorization and license numbers?

Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Yasue Ota,

Thank you for reaching out. Since you’ve purchased RDS CALs through Open Value (Open License), the license details—including the authorization number and license number—will not appear in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Instead, you’ll need to access the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC).

Please sign in to VLSC using the account associated with your license purchase. Once logged in, navigate to Licenses > Relationship Summary, then click on the relevant License ID. On the next screen, you’ll find:

The License Number under “License Details”

The Authorization Number under “Parent Program”

These two values are required to activate your RDS CALs via the Remote Desktop Licensing Manager on your server.

Let us know if you need help accessing VLSC or completing the activation process.

    Best regards,

    Quinnie Quoc.
