Word not working properly on my IPAD Pro

I am using an IPAD Pro and Apple Magic Keyboard and whenever I use Word or Excel and type the screen continuously scrolls to the top of the document and text does not type properly. Almost every word I type misses letters…this ONLY happens when I use MSFT products and does not happened when I use Apple Pages…is there anyway to fix this or are they just not compatible. If I use my Apple MACBOOK I have no issues. It is ONLY when I use the IPAD and Keyboard. From what I can tell there are no missing updates and the keyboard works properly for every other application I use. Very frustrating to say the least as I use the IPAD for work and at this point I may have switch to Pages. Thanks in advance!

    Hello @Johnny C,

Thank you for reaching out to the Q&A forum!

When you invest in Microsoft products, it's absolutely fair to expect full compatibility and reliable performance across devices.

I completely understand how disappointing this experience must be; especially when you're using iPad Pro is a powerful tool that many professionals use as a laptop replacement, and it’s clear that you're using it to its full potential.

However, I hope you understand that while Microsoft continues to improve support for iPadOS, there are still some limitations compared to the full desktop experience. Certain features and rendering behaviors may not yet be fully optimized for external keyboard input on iPad.

Based on your issue, this seems to be an issue affecting Microsoft Office apps on iPadOS when paired with external keyboards. It’s not a hardware fault, and your keyboard is clearly working fine with other apps like Apple Pages.

While there are a few workarounds (like using Word Online via Safari or disabling certain keyboard settings), I believe your feedback is incredibly valuable. Microsoft needs to hear directly from users like you to prioritize fixes for these kinds of issues.

I highly recommend submitting feedback through the Microsoft 365 Feedback Hub:

    • Go to Help => Feedback => Send Feedback
    • Describe your suggestion in detail.

User's image Additionally, you also report this directly from the Word app on your iPad: undefined

This allows the development team to understand the needs of real users. Not only Word, but all Microsoft apps are continuously improved to better serve users like you. Your feedback may help us revive or introduce features that make a real difference.

Every submission is reviewed, and many product enhancements have come directly from user input. I’ll also submit feedback myself, as it’s clear that many users are experiencing the same issue.

Once again, thank you for raising this idea. Your suggestion perfectly reflects the current needs of modern users, and it could truly help shape Microsoft’s future development priorities.

I truly appreciate you're understanding and patience as Microsoft continues to evolve the platform.

Alternatively, if you’d prefer to have our technical support team investigate this more deeply, especially on the backend, please confirm:

Is the account you're using on Word your official Microsoft 365 work account?

I will guide you steps to reach out to our higher technical team.

Look forward to hearing from you!
