I was unable to get my email.

Microsoft forced me to use exchange to get my emails on my MAC Book Pro.

Now my email will not share with my iPhone and iPad.

How do I change my email back?

    Hi @TERESA PETERSEN,
Thank you for posting question to Microsoft Q&A.

According to this issue, may I know if you could specify more detail about your issue? From my understanding, it seems like you could access to your email in your MAC Book Pro but not in iPhone and iPad.

Please let me know if which account you are using to access to your email among your devices, is it Outlook or Apple Mail?
If you are using Apple Mail, you could go to Settings > Apps > Mail > Accounts > remove your email and re-add it again. If you are using Outlook, please try to reinstall Outlook app from Apple App Store to see if it could help.

I am looking forward to your update from your end.

Update (As for September 1, 2025):

I received your feedback about you were not able to add your account under the option other mail account but you needed to select "Exchange" option.
Since 2024, Microsoft has deprecated Basic Authentication for Outlook.com account - you could check via this article: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/outlook/keeping-our-outlook-personal-email-users-safe-reinforcing-our-commitment-to-secu/4164184
This resulted in that you tried to use option Other mail like the screenshot below will no longer have effect if you are trying to add Outlook via this method as it does not utilize Modern Authentication:
User's image Then it will throw up the error like this (I also had the same issue like yours)
    User's image

You will need to use the option "Microsoft Exchange" to sign-in into your email.
On your iPhone or iPad, you should see it like this - unlike your Mac:
    User's image

You should be able to select Outlook.com to sign-in on mobile devices.
As far as I know, this should be the issue/limitation within the Apple Mail as well as it does not have the same UI - many people has raised about this issue:

As for now, you could just continue to use Microsoft Exchange as an option to sign-into your Microsoft personal account as it is not significantly different from the option Outlook.com you found in your iPhone or iPad.

I truly hope that this clarifies about your issue. Let me know if you have further questions!
