[Article] Using the proper tags when tagging a question

Hello everybody in the Microsoft Q&A!

I'm a volunteer moderator here on the community and I have a few things that I'd like to share with you guys.

First, I've been seeing quite a few issues lately that aren't related to Microsoft Edge (i.e. "Azure Portal not working" or "Not able to delete a file"). Although there might be other tags with this issue, I have seen them mainly on the Microsoft Edge tag. Issues like those above should go to their respective tags (Azure and Windows for home, respectively).

It makes it easier for me and all of the other moderators when tags are properly set, otherwise, that's more work for us to edit lots of questions to reflect their proper home.

The second thing is the amount of information that is included in your question.

Some questions have very little details in their body, so that makes it harder for everybody to properly and accurately share potential solutions, since the lack of information makes us have to speculate the issue.

If it's possible, it would make it easier if, when posting a question, as much detail is included, such as error codes, a short description of the issue you're having, and solutions you've tried are included. That way, certain things can be ruled out and the issue might come faster.

An example of a bad question:

i am having issue in windows 11 update, please help.

This is an example of a bad question since it's lacking lots of details (i.e. error code, screenshots, and basic details.)

An example of a good question:

I am unable to update Windows 11

Hello everybody,

I am having an issue in Windows 11, where Windows Update doesn't install updates. I am getting error 0x800f0831 when attempting to install any updates. I've tried restarting my PC, running sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /restore-health to no avail. I appreciate any help.

This is an example of a good question since it includes a short description of the issue, some error codes, and solutions tried.
