Dear @MadMax0rs,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Based on your description, may I please double confirm if the account in question is a Microsoft 365 educational account which is provided by your college/institution?
- If you are using a student account, the most efficient solution would be to contact your university IT admin to report this issue and they can help you sign-in your Microsoft account as soon as possible.
Since you’re running into a common issue with the New Outlook for Windows where it defaults to a Google sign-in flow and doesn’t give you an option to sign in with a Microsoft account. According to my research, here are some quick methods I recommend you try:
Method 1: Reset New Outlook to first-run state
Would you please have a try to set new Outlook application to its first-run state and then if you can start from the scratch?
- Close Outlook: Ensure that the Outlook application is closed.
- Open Run Dialog: Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
- Execute Command: Type or paste: olk.exe --clearLocalState, then press Enter.
- On the below pop up, click Yes.
- After all above, relaunch New Outlook app, you should be able to add accounts as normal.
Important Considerations
- Data Loss: This command will remove all accounts and local data from the new Outlook application.
- Reconfiguration: After running this command, you will need to reconfigure your accounts and settings when you open Outlook again.
Method 2: Reset via Windows Settings
- Go to Settings → Apps → Installed Apps → Outlook (New).
- Click Advanced Options → Reset (or Repair first if you want to try a lighter fix).
Workaround
- If you still can’t bypass Google sign-in, you can temporarily use Outlook on the web or Classic Outlook until the new app is fully reset.
