OneDrive Mobile Sync Issues for Blog Content - Any Workflow Tips?

Hi everyone,

I’m a nurse and wellness blogger running Simply Zen Living, and I’ve started using OneDrive to organize and access my Canva assets, blog drafts, and planning files while working from different devices.

It works fine on desktop, but on mobile (Android), I’ve been running into:

Slow or partial sync with Canva uploads

Files not updating in real-time across devices

Occasional "file not found" errors when accessing drafts

Is anyone else managing a content workflow like this using OneDrive?

Would love to hear how you organize files or if there are any best practices or settings tweaks to make mobile syncing more reliable.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Naila.

Dear @Naila S,

Thank you so much for contacting Microsoft Q&A Forum.

Based on your description, I understand that you are facing with challenges for mobile users managing creative workflows with OneDrive. There are several reasons that may cause it:

  1. Background restrictions: android often limits background activity for apps like OneDrive.
  2. Cache/Data corruption: temporary data issues can cause files to not appear or sync properly.
  3. Permissions & battery settings: missing permissions or aggressive battery optimization can block sync.
  4. Folder overload: large folders (e.g., Canva uploads or Camera Roll) can slow down indexing and syncing.
  5. Connectivity or storage limits: poor internet or full OneDrive storage can halt syncing.

Therefore, I have tried to research in all material documents related to this issue and I found several methods that you can double-check to see if they can help. Please kindly consult in these articles:

Any third-party resources or references shared are intended solely for informational or consultative purposes. Besides that, you can try to disable battery optimization to see if it can be fixed: go to Settings > Battery > Turn off Power saving.

Additionally, I have some advice that you can practice for this workflow:

  • Use separate folders for Canva assets, blog drafts, and planning files.
  • Avoid nesting too deeply, you should keep folder structures simple.
  • Use consistent naming conventions to avoid sync conflicts.
  • Sync over Wi-Fi and avoid metered connections when uploading large files.

I hope this information can help you in this matter and your work can be back on track soon.

Wish you a pleasant day!
