Dear Deacon,
Good day! Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community. I am happy to help you.
I apologize for the experience you have had with this issue.
To assist you better, could you tell me:
- What device are you using Outlook on when the login loop happens?
- Windows PC
- Mac
- iPhone/iPad
- Android phone/tablet
- Is this a personal Microsoft account (like Outlook.com, Hotmail, Xbox), or a work/school account (like Microsoft 365 for Business or Education)?
In the meantime, kindly try the following suggestions to resolve:
- Clear Cached Credentials
- On Windows:
- Open Credential Manager > Windows Credentials
- Remove any entries related to Outlook, MicrosoftOffice, or your email address

On Mac:
- Open Keychain Access
- Search for your email address or “Microsoft” and delete related items

- Remove and Re-add the Account in Outlook
- Go to Outlook Settings > Accounts
- Remove the problematic account
- Restart Outlook and add the account again
- Clear App Data (Mobile Devices)
- On Android: Go to Settings > Apps > Outlook > Storage > Clear Data
- On iOS: Uninstall and reinstall the Outlook app
- Make sure that both your device's operating system and Outlook are up to date
- Try Logging in via Web: Visit https://outlook.office.com
- If login is successful, the issue may be specific to the app
- Reset MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) (Admins only)
- If you're an admin and this involves a work/school account, you could try to reset MFA for the user via Microsoft Entra Admin Center
- If you don't have an admin role, you need to reach out to your admin for support
I hope this helps resolve the issue! If you found the information useful, feel free to mark it as the answer - it can really help others in the community who are facing similar questions.
If you have any other concerns or need further assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Best regards,
