Is anyone just getting an endless circle of login prompts? I enter the password, am told to verify, and it just sends me around in this same loop.

Is anyone else receiving an endless loop of entering your password and then verifying in the Outlook app?

This is really miffing…

    Jess,

    The looo has been broken!

    Aka, everything’s working now.

Thank you for your help. It may have been that the Authenticator app needed more time with (perhaps via more attempts from) the specific share drive account associated with that email.

    Really appreciate!

    Dear Deacon,

Good day! Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community. I am happy to help you.

I apologize for the experience you have had with this issue.

To assist you better, could you tell me:

    • What device are you using Outlook on when the login loop happens?
      • Windows PC
      • Mac
      • iPhone/iPad
      • Android phone/tablet
    • Is this a personal Microsoft account (like Outlook.com, Hotmail, Xbox), or a work/school account (like Microsoft 365 for Business or Education)?

In the meantime, kindly try the following suggestions to resolve:

    1. Clear Cached Credentials
      • On Windows:
        • Open Credential Manager > Windows Credentials
        • Remove any entries related to Outlook, MicrosoftOffice, or your email address

    On Mac:

    • Open Keychain Access
    • Search for your email address or “Microsoft” and delete related items

    1. Remove and Re-add the Account in Outlook
      • Go to Outlook Settings > Accounts
      • Remove the problematic account
      • Restart Outlook and add the account again
    2. Clear App Data (Mobile Devices)
      • On Android: Go to Settings > Apps > Outlook > Storage > Clear Data
      • On iOS: Uninstall and reinstall the Outlook app
    3. Make sure that both your device's operating system and Outlook are up to date
    4. Try Logging in via Web: Visit https://outlook.office.com
      • If login is successful, the issue may be specific to the app
    5. Reset MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) (Admins only)
      • If you're an admin and this involves a work/school account, you could try to reset MFA for the user via Microsoft Entra Admin Center
      • If you don't have an admin role, you need to reach out to your admin for support

I hope this helps resolve the issue! If you found the information useful, feel free to mark it as the answer - it can really help others in the community who are facing similar questions.

If you have any other concerns or need further assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out.
