Onenote keeps crashing.

Hello. I am currently using onenote on a samsung tablet. I use it to organise all my notes. On each page, i will have a printout of about 20-30 pages each. I also annotate a lot on it, and draw really big mind maps on the same page.

I havent had much issue with it until yesterday. Whenever I try to use the lasso tool on the mindmap, onenote will just exit on its own.

I have been trying to screenshot my annotated printouts and add them as a attachment pdf (not printout). Ive also seperated the big mind maps from the pdfs on seperate pages. However, microsoft is still crashing. Is there a way to fix this so i can contunue using this app?

I have an exam next thursday and I really need this app to study. Any help asap will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello GWENDOLINE HOANG YU WEN,

    Good morning,

Welcome to Microsoft Community, we are here to help

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, I understand that you need assistance with OneNote Crashing. If OneNote keeps crashing on your mobile device, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Force Stop the App

    • Go to Settings > Apps > OneNote.
    • Tap Force Stop to close the app completely.
    • Restart OneNote and check if the issue persists.

    2. Clear Cache and Data

    • Navigate to Settings > Apps > OneNote > Storage.
    • Tap Clear Cache first and test the app.
    • If the issue continues, tap Clear Data (this will remove locally stored notes, so ensure everything is synced before doing this).

    3. Update OneNote

    • Open the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
    • Search for Microsoft OneNote and check for updates.
    • Install the latest version, as updates often fix bugs and improve stability.

    4. Reinstall OneNote

    • Uninstall the app from your device.
    • Restart your phone.
    • Reinstall OneNote from the app store.

    5. Check for System Updates

    • Go to Settings > System > Software Update.
    • Install any pending updates, as system compatibility issues can sometimes cause app crashes.

    6. Sign Out and Sign Back In

    • Open OneNote and go to Settings > Account.
    • Sign out of your Microsoft account.
    • Restart the app and sign back in.

    Hope this helps,

    Best Regards,

    JK
