    Hi Bee-atop,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

We understand that you want to use Excel on your iPad 2.

Due to Apple's application policies, programs for older systems are no longer supported. Microsoft Office currently only supports Apple devices running iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 or later, which are the latest three versions.

Therefore, considering that your iPad 2 uses iPadOS 9.3.5, which is an older version, the programs designed for it are no longer supported. As a result, the network services within the programs may have also stopped, and the servers may have been shut down. Hence, we recommend that you consider using a new Apple device or another device to use Microsoft Office on mobile.

Thank you for your understanding! If you have any questions while using Microsoft products, feel free to continue discussing them with everyone in the Microsoft Community!

    Best regards,

Eliac | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
