    Dear Melody Marshall,

    Good day!

The similar issues may have different root causes, so I suggest you post a new thread so that we can involve more resources with more confirmation on the new thread and provide the corresponding suggestions.

     Sincerely,

I also have this issue, having lost approximately 1,861 files. I spent two days trying to these files back. Today I did the following:

    1. Opened Recycle Bin
    2. Clicked Gear icon on right side of screen
    3. Clicked Options
    4. clicked Restore your OneDrive
    5. Verified my identity
    6. Selected the date (2 days ago) that I first shared my files with OneDrive and clicked Recover. At this point it appeared all the files were being restored. I now have a "restorelog..." in "My files" that has "Number of total restore events: 1876" and "Number of failed restore events: 1."

However, I can only locate the folders and the folders have no files in them.

Am I close to getting the files recovered? I am unsure about what to do next. Can you help me?

    Dear SS01_,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

We are sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with recovering a permanently deleted file from OneDrive. I deeply understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

I understand how frustrating this may be, however, could you please try the below methods:

    1. Could you please Go to the OneDrive website, sign in with your Microsoft account, and click on the “Recycle bin” icon on the left sidebar. If the file is there, select it and click “Restore”.
    2. After checking the first recycle bin, could you please scroll to the bottom and click “Second-stage recycle bin”. Look for your file and restore it if found.
    3. You could also consider the restore OneDrive option. Restore your OneDrive - Microsoft Support

We appreciate your understanding that sometimes the initial response may not resolve the problem immediately. However, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation. So please let me know if you have any further questions or if there are any misunderstandings.

Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

    Sincerely,

Ralph Chawatama | Microsoft Community Moderator
