win10 Home upgrade to Pro
We have a user who is trying to upgrade from win10 home to Pro. It is a X1 Extreme Gen 2 which originally come with a win10Pro. But engineer accidentally loaded a win10 Pro into the unit and since then customer has been using it with important data and licensing inside and not willing to go through the hassle of reinstalling his software. So he is trying to upgrade the win10Home to Pro edition but the problem it that it will show the windows is not activated.
We try to advise customer to the following but it seems to be working in our office environment but customer claim that it is still not showing his windows as activated. Can we get someone who can help to verify this steps below really works for the software upgrade.

Your steps seems no problem.
Make sure to disable the virus checking software and disconnect the laptop internet before upgrade.
Another thought is OEM vs Retail and there may be restrictions on OEM upgrades. If it's an OEM key, it may be not useful for upgrades
You could contact the manufacturer to see what they say.
To upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro and activate your device, you'll need a valid product key or a digital license for Windows 10 Pro."
