How to export school emails to personal email on Mac?

My school email is through Outlook. In about two weeks I will lose access to it and all of my data. I've been reading forums about how to download an older version of Outlook for my Mac, and then export....that's not working. When I open the desktop app it opens in offline mode and doesn't open any of my past emails to take next steps. It appears I need to pay for a subscription, but I already have this Outlook account through my school. What do I need to do to export my school email into either another Outlook account (I set up a free one just in case) or something else?

    Hello,

I have the same issue. My email from my school is expiring soon and I would like to transfer multiple notebooks to a new, personal email. I looked at multiple tutorials and none of them work or are painstakingly arduous (I have quite the number of notebooks and subsections). The export button doesn't exist for me on either the web browser version or the app version of OneNote, so I'm at a loss here. If someone could reach out to me with how to proceed, that would be really helpful! **I have a Macbook

    Thank you!

    Hello DowntownJB04,

Thank you for posting in the community.

Based on the information provided, it seems the primary issue is that your Outlook application is opening in offline mode. When Outlook operates offline, it cannot sync with your email server, which explains why your past emails aren't appearing or accessible. This is a common issue when the application is disconnected from the server.

To investigate further, could you kindly provide the following information:

    1. You mentioned using a school email account. Can you confirm if this email is set up with Microsoft 365 Exchange, IMAP, or POP?
    2. Please share the email account details in private message.
    3. Could you confirm that your school email license has not expired yet?
    4. Please share a screenshot of the current Office version you're using. You can follow these steps to find this information: About Office: What version of Office am I using? - Microsoft Support
    5. Share a screenshot of the version number you're currently using? (You can check the version by following this guide: What version of Outlook do I have? - Microsoft Support
    6. Please try to access your school email through Outlook on the web (https://outlook.office365.com/). Please let me know your emails are visible and accessible there.
    7. When you open the Outlook desktop app, do you notice any indication that it’s in Offline Mode, such as a "Working Offline" status in the bottom-right corner of the app? Please share a screen shot indicating that it is opening in offline mode.
    8. Have you tried manually switching Outlook from Offline Mode to Online Mode? If so, were you able to sync or retrieve your past emails?
    9. Have you attempted to access your school email on a different device such as Outlook application for windows? If so, was the issue still present?
